IN JUST 10 MINUTES YOU CAN…

  • Respond to a CLC alert
  • Call your member of Congress and ask their continued support for the NIH/NSF
  • Share your story with neighbors, friends, and family

It is very important, even if you don’t have a lot of time, to take just 10 minutes out of your day and become a scientific citizen.

IN JUST 30 MINUTES YOU CAN…

  • Call into local talk radio shows
  • Write a letter to the editor for your local newspaper
  • Talk about advocacy at your department meeting, lab meeting, and/or post doc association
  • Email your member of Congress in your local District

If you have a bit more time to advocate, you can call or write into your local media outlet or even send an email or fax to your Representative’s local district office about your work and the importance of scientific research funding.

IN ONE DAY YOU CAN…

  • Participate in a CLS Capitol Hill Day
  • Write an op-ed for your local newspaper
  • Speak at local clubs, churches, and schools about the value of federally-funded science
  • Invite your member of Congress and/or their staff, local officials, and members of the media to visit your lab
